Dermaviduals - how visiting HQ, I discover it is certainly not just another skin product company.
On a recent trip to Germany, I had the honour of visiting the KOKO (Kosemtic Konzept) the home of Dermaviduals. I spent two hours touring the research labs, met with the team that bring us the best skin care products in the world and spent time with the genius himself, Dr Hans!
It was a thrill to meet up with for a second time the founder Dr Hans Lautenschläger. The incredibly generous gentleman that he is, Dr Hans sat with me and answered all my questions. We discussed the skin conditions that seem to be on the increase, our love in Australia of the Deco make up range and why is it we don’t have the SPF 30 in Australia. I also spent time with Marek managing director of KOKO. They introduced me to the research team and developers of this incredible product line. They guided me through the production lab, bottling processes, and the distribution centre.

I have to say, spending time here and learning how they choose to run the operation only reinforced my impression of the company. Using best practice, not only in the development and production of their products, but also the care for their staff and clients too. Realising that happy staff equals quality productivity, then in-turn happy customers (you and me).
It is important to note that the Head office and production laboratory is in the industrial heart land of Germany. With big brands and other biotech companies not far away, KOKO must remain at the cutting edge of research and development. To meet longterm employees of the company, one appreciates just what a fantastic company it is to work for, and the feeling of the place certainly reflected this. These are people are who not interested in jumping over to another company and who genuinely love working here!
A product’s results are only as good as the person recommending them, so educating the therapists, nurses and doctors working with the product is imperative.
Seeing the education department was a real bonus. Having an understanding of how in depth the training must be to get the Dermaviduals concept across to skin therapists, I was impressed with the setup and wished I could have sat in on a class!
It is impressive to witness a company standing by its values, beliefs and philosophy amidst all the noise of the skin product industry. For 20 years the science of corneotherapy has been the foundation of the Dermaviduals brand. No matter the latest trends in ingredients or methods, it has stayed firm in its practices, that of building longterm health of the skin. Rather than taking advantage of consumer vulnerabilities and the desire for a quick fix, Dermaviduals goes deeper to work on the correction of skin conditions, providing sustainable health for the skin. This is obviously an approach that fits well with Plume Skin.
Dermaviduals is revered by many in the industry for outstanding cosmetic chemistry and appreciated by skin therapists like me for the ongoing advancements and education offered to allow us to grow. This results in the continued success and development of our spot in the industry.
My continued gratitude to KOKO for its work and for Derma Aesthetics for its successful distribution of the products and education within Australia and New Zealand.
I look forward to a long and successful partnership.
